Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST)
Admissions to Class VI are made through the JNVST, which is conducted annually. The test is designed to measure the candidate's ability in mental ability, arithmetic, and language. The selection test is of non-verbal nature, class-neutral, and designed to ensure that talented children from rural areas are able to compete without suffering a disadvantage.
Eligibility Criteria
- Candidate must be from the district where the JNV is located.
- Candidate must be studying in Class V in a recognized school.
- Candidate must be between 9 and 13 years of age.
- No candidate is eligible to appear in the selection test for the second time.
Lateral Entry (Class IX & XI)
In order to optimally utilize the infrastructure and other facilities, vacant seats are filled through lateral entry in Class IX and Class XI. Selection is based on an offline test for Class IX and Class X board marks for Class XI.
